Jared’s drawings tend towards a cartographical approach to landscape drawing, mapping environments from a bird’s eye perspective. The worlds he invents are frequently dystopian, revolving around a vision of how the modern world could return to nature in the form of futuristic steampunk shanty-towns and Christian hermitages nestled on top of barren Arctic cliffs. He is also a regular practitioner of portrait drawing and his quick sketches denote objects in his environment using simple and confident lines. Usually Jared works in black and white, using either graphite or ink, for his drawings.
